Myopia control Lenses.
Myopia (short-sightedness) is becoming increasingly common, particularly in children and young people, and in some cases it can continue to progress throughout childhood and the teenage years. Increasing myopia can mean stronger prescriptions over time and, in higher levels of myopia, a greater risk of developing certain eye health conditions later in life (for example retinal detachment, glaucoma, myopic maculopathy). The good news is that there are now a range of evidence-based myopia management options designed to help slow its progression. Myopia control lenses are specially designed spectacle lenses that use different optical zones to provide clear central vision while influencing the way light focuses in the peripheral retina. Research has shown that certain myopia control lens designs can significantly slow myopia progression in children compared with standard single-vision lenses.
