What to expect in an Eye examination:

Expert eye care, supported by the latest technology.

Your eyes deserve more than a routine sight test. Our comprehensive eye examinations combine the expertise and personal care of an independent optician with the latest optical equipment and advanced imaging technology.

We use Tono-Vera tonometry to measure the pressure within your eyes quickly and comfortably, without the “puff of air”. We have also invested in a Canon high resolution digital retinal & OCT camera and an anterior eye camera. Using modern diagnostic equipment, it allows our optometrists to look beyond your prescription and assess your eyes in greater detail, helping us detect and monitor changes over time where appropriate.

As an independent optician, we believe in putting your eyes and your individual needs first. We take the time to listen, explain our findings clearly and provide honest, personalised advice. From your first examination through to ongoing care, you can expect professional advice, attention to detail and a genuinely personal service. Because looking after your eyes is about more than seeing clearly. It’s about looking after your eye health for the future.

Advanced technology. Expert attention. Independent care.

CARING FOR MORE THAN YOUR VISION

Regular eye exams are important, even if you’ve never worn glasses.

Our tests assess more than just your vision; they are vital in monitoring the health of your eyes and can indicate serious and potentially sight-threatening conditions such as diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

For children, a regular eye examination can detect any changes to their vision before they become a problem. A child will often not complain about their vision as they do not realise what is ‘normal’. Poor eyesight can lead to problems at school and socially, so it’s always better to contact us for an eye test for your child if you ever have any questions or concerns.

What is dry eye

Dry eye is a common condition where your eyes do not produce enough tears, or tears evaporate too quickly. This can cause dryness, grittiness, burning, redness, watery eyes, light sensitivity and blurred or fluctuating vision. Causes can include prolonged screen use, contact lenses, ageing, certain medications and environmental factors such as air conditioning or windy weather.

The vicious cycle of dry eye

Dry eye can become a cycle of dryness, irritation and inflammation. When the eye surface becomes dry, tears can evaporate more quickly, reducing protection and causing further irritation. Breaking this cycle by improving tear quality, reducing inflammation and protecting the eye surface can help restore comfort and eye health.

Dry Eye Assessments

We offer comprehensive dry eye assessments to carefully evaluate the health and comfort of your eyes. During your assessment, we will look at the underlying causes of your symptoms and assess the surface of your eyes and tear film. Based on our findings, we can recommend the most appropriate treatment and personalised advice to help manage your symptoms and improve your long-term eye comfort.

The ZEST® procedure offers a professional and convenient solution for removing biofilm that can lead to chronic inflammation and dry eye.

With ZEST®, deep cleansing can be accomplished without pain or discomfort.

ZEST or NuLids?
